Karen Fogarty

Karen Fogarty is a paralegal in the Business Services practice group of Best Best & Krieger LLP. Karen has more than 25 years of experience as a paralegal, most extensively in the areas of employee benefits and retirement plans. Karen also has experience with general business and civil litigation, including trial.

Karen assists attorneys in establishing, administering and terminating employee benefits plans, including qualified retirement plans, deferred compensation plans, cafeteria plans, and flexible spending accounts for both private employers and public agencies. In addition to providing paralegal support for a wide variety of compliance and plan administration issues, she is responsible for the preparation and year-end administration of various types of qualified retirement plans, including volume and custom plans, new comparability and safe harbor plans. 

Karen provides research assistance to attorneys who advise clients on complying with, and correcting issues on, federal labor, ERISA, COBRA, participant disclosure requirements and other federal and state laws affecting employee benefit plans. Karen also assists with the maintenance of corporate records.
